ERGO Hestia is an insurance company operating in Poland since 1991. Our insurance operations have garnered a number of prestigious awards (including The Economic Award of the President of Poland for the best and the most innovative financial institution in Poland, “Teraz Polska” promotion logo, the title of “The Best CEO of an Insurance Company in the Third Republic of Poland” for Piotr Śliwicki, the title of “The Best Insurer in the Third Republic of Poland”).

Since the beginning of its operations, ERGO Hestia has been committed to corporate social responsibility. It has been launching project to boost vocational development of the disabled. It supports meaningful culture, delivers original projects aimed at development of young art and sport talents.

One of its cultural initiatives initiated by Piotr Śliwicki is Hestia Artistic Journey, a competition launched by ERGO Hestia in 2002. In every edition of the competition, the jury selects a student of the Academy of Fine Arts who takes part in artist-in-residence programme in New York. In November 2009, Hestia Artistic Journey project was distinguished in the contest “Art More Precious Than Gold” organised by Commitment to Europe Arts & Business Foundation and the National Bank of Poland.

Piotr Śliwicki , the founder of ERGO Hestia Group and the President of the Board of its two subsidiaries: Sopockie Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń ERGO hestia S.A., the second leading property insurer and Sopockie Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń na Życie ERGO Hestia S.A., is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Good Practice of the Polish Chamber of Insurance. Establishment of the second largest insurance group won him “The Man of 15 Years of Polish Insurance” and the “Man of the Decade of Polish Insurance” awards. In recognition for his massive contribution to development of the Polish insurance market, Piotr Śliwicki garnered the Golden Cross of Merit and the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. He was the sole Polish player invited by the organiser of the global insurance and reassurance forum - the elite Randez-Vous de Septembre Association in Monte Carlo. Piotr Śliwicki’s professional credits include membership in the Management Board of the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce he has been overseeing as the President since 2010. He has also initiated a number of CRS initiatives, including Integralia Foundation providing support to people with disabilities who are seeking for employment and promoting young sports and art talents. Spurred by Piotr Śliwicki, in 2002 ERGO Hestia launched “Hestia Artistic Journey” competition which strives to identify the most exciting personalities studying at Polish academies of fine arts.
